So one of the artists I follow found this tiny thing in the ditch running the back of his neighborhood. Her leg was shattered and none of the nearby residents seemed to know if she had an owner. She seems to be someone’s pet; she’s not micro-chipped, but she’s people-friendly and is housebroken. He’s had her broken leg looked at, but it’s pretty much drained his finances and she’s going to need follow-up medical attention.

He’s got a donation page set up for her here. Any help would be appreciated. Also, if any of you guys know of animal rescues in Texas who could take her in and help her with a forever home, that would be excellent too. Thanks!

So I realized that I have kind of been a lazy mobile blogger and have yet to make a huge post about PBN – Pretty Brown and Nerdy!

My friends Cheyenne, Jazmine and I decided to finally collab and create content for us by us. The three of us have been friends for a few years now we bonded by being nerdy black girls! Our similar interests and the lack of representation on youtube really drove us to this point and the fact that we are each enthusiastic about different aspects of nerd culture but we all bond over the same things like cosplay, anime, gaming and convention going.

Late last year we decided to kick things off and we started working out what we wanted out of our channel and how to go about doing it so now with the start of 2015 we are really ready to do the damn thing. Black Girl Nerds featured us on their blog back in November and we really appreciate their support!

We currently have six videos out and more are on the way! And out next stop is PAX South in San Antonio, Texas so if you are coming please let us know we will be vlogging and talking to other cosplayers and nerd of color!

URGENT – stray cat needs home!

My mum recently found a cat in a bin. He’s a stray that the locals call ‘Tripod’ as he got ran over and is now missing one of his front legs. He was taken to the vet at the time and now can do most things that other cats can do like run, jump up and roll over.

He is strong and appears healthy although we’re concerned about him having no home over the very cold UK winter. He is ginger and nervous (particularly around men) although not aggressive. Apparently there have been threats to have him put down.

An ideal home would be someone in the North-West UK region (or who is willing to come down to the NW to pick him up) with no other cats, dogs or small children. Someone who can be patient with a scared kitty and will not abuse him further (this includes someone who does not put pets on vegan diets or blow weed in their faces).

PLEASE signal boost or message me if you could take him in!

We don’t want money for him, we just want him to go somewhere where he’ll be safe and loved.

Hey everyone! If you’ve been on this ride with me for a while you know that I have always been super busy and active—going to as many conventions as I can, making 15 costumes a year, taking every opportunity I can get, just trying to live my life to the fullest.

And now I’m working for Marvel Universe Live—travelling to a new city every week for the next 2 years and seeing so many things and learning as much as I can along the way.

It’s been fun, exhilarating, exhausting. And painful. As you might already know, I am permanently disabled and have been for a long time. I use canes and a manual wheelchair to get around, but because I have severe pain and debilitating damage all over my body, using these mobility aids hurts me and makes it difficult to do my job.

What I need to keep going is a mobility scooter. Something that keeps me mobile without causing me physical stress or exertion. It has to be small and compact so that I can easily take it with me on the tour. I found one that is perfect and I am saving up for it, but it will be a long time before I can afford it on my own. And every day that I force myself to struggle through the pain, I wear myself down even more. The sooner I can stop hurting myself, the better.

After giving it a lot of thought, and speaking to friends about it, I have started a GoFundMe to help me obtain a mobility aid that best suits my needs. It’s very hard to ask for help, but I can’t let my disability define what I can and cannot do. I want to reach my goals and see just how much of a difference I can make in the world before I leave it.

If I’m able to get my mobility scooter, I will be donating my current wheelchair to Wheels of Mercy, a wonderful charity that gives wheelchairs to people in need. I will be happy to pay it forward if I am able to do so.

my friend is moving and she’s been feeding a cat that comes around her back door and begs for affection

this beauty goes by “mousey” and is incredibly sweet, to the point of demanding attention, running up to you meowing and tail vibrating, and rubbing on you so hard that she’ll lift up off her front paws

warnings:

she is a territorial pee’er (which means she’d need to be an only cat, or an outdoor cat with extremely good care—i’d prefer to get her a home for the former rather than the latter)

she’ll need a vet checkup, de-fleaing and a full round of vaccinations

she’s very demanding for attention, not a laid back kitty

as she’s a black cat and they’re my fave, i’d take her in but i am literally homeless and currently can’t even care for the cats i already have; they’re living with family until we can get a place of our own.

I’m unemployed! Wow! To say it’s been a crazy couple of weeks is an understatement. And did you know finding a job is actually difficult?? I know, nobody even likes them, why are they so scarce in demand? It’s weird.

Anyway, this is actually venturing into what I’m feeling is safe to call an “emergency situation,” as in, I’m running on my last couple of bucks for groceries, gas, and god knows rent and other bills. I need some help. So!
