I think one of the kindest things you can do for yourself as an artist is to accept that you will make bad drawings sometimes and just…stop caring about it. It’s not like that bad sketch you drew was your one and only chance to ever draw the thing. It’s so much easier emotionally to just say “lol what is that?” delete it and start over than it is to spend the next six hours crying about it.

Once you stop treating every single thing you draw as something precious and learn to just throw stuff away it takes so much stress away. One bad drawing doesn’t make you a bad artist, or a fraud. Even the best pro artists are gonna have moments where they draw things wrong.

You’re going to make bad drawings so just go out there and make them so you can move on with your life. Chances are your second attempt will be better.

my bff plumbunny​ has a big dental emergency and absolutely no money to pay for it. the bill is going to come to nearly $1000 usd, and i’ve been big into drawing on this pack of 3×5 index cards, so i’m going to start doing commissions in support of her.

all commissions will be 1 character done in marker on 3×5 index cards

Mr. Wagner and Mr. Boy – Mark Dos Santos

In a plot twist surprising no one, I collect artwork of Hellboy and Nightcrawler being awesome teammates/drinking buddies/half-demon-good-guy-bros. I try to get at least one commission every time I make it to a convention with a half decent artist’s alley. I have too many to share in a single post, so I’ll have to share them one at a time. (I might make one post of all the quick sketchy ones.) To my great shame, I didn’t always get the artist’s name, but I’ll give credit where I can. Starting the collection off with a bang by this great piece by Mark Dos Santos. Fun fact: This had to be mailed to me as he didn’t have time to finish it at the convention, but he threw in a free coloring job. What a cool guy.
