I’ve cried over many a fictional character over the years. Besides my Gen X babies, I think Kurt’s death was the worst. But Western comics tend to bring people back. Where in manga- they usually stay…dead. I’m sorta numb at this point. I assume the reality of it will hit me a bit more when the next issue comes out and I can’t pretend Eri’s gonna rewind shit and save him.

Yeah, that situation really snowballed. I guess the moral of the story is- don’t hold grudges and always listen to Deku. At least they got to make amends but it was absolutely gut wrenching. 

I, for one, am going to pretend it never happened. I’ve gotten pretty good at ignoring character deaths over the years. Also, Toshinori has suffered enough. He doesn’t need another horrible thing hanging over his head.

@stellarvisionary just screen capped this so I’m not reblogging the same huge post 100 times but, yeah. 

His body has been lacking a heart for…several years? I’d imagine his blood is just sorta congealed in there. There’s nothing to move it around. Probably looks like black strap molasses at this point. Not terribly appetizing for a vampire.

Perhaps a side effect of his whole “no longer a mutant/Amped up on El Sabah Nur blood” thing that he had going for a while?

Hmm. I dunno. When Legion reset the timeline it was almost like that whole Apocalypse thing never happened. And even if the time reset did something, he’s been back in his ol’ meat puppet for quite the stretch now anyway. He still doesn’t have a heart. I don’t think it would take very long for his blood to go south. I’m pretty sure it was just a) a way to show how much Jono cares about Jubilee b) a way to terrify Shogo and make Jubilee feel like a monster.

I’m fairly certain the writer was not considering the bizarre physiology that everyone’s favorite flaming corpse boy has. Probably didn’t cross their mind.

Chamber is super uncomfortable with the fact that he doesn’t have a mouth especially when it comes to his romantic relationships.

So why why why why why do artists ALWAYS depict people kissing him on the scarf/bandages? How is that the LEAST bit romantic? That boy still has some face left so won’t you please let him get shown affection in a way that would make sense for him and make him feel loved and comfortable?

But it’s only a normal kiss if it’s on the mouth, I guess.

You’re welcome! The truly ironic thing about this panel is that they literally forget about this in the next issue, when Amber kisses Chamber under the assumption that he’s attracted to her.

And now it gets to be Jubilee’s turn next *eye roll*

I’d get more excited for these things if it didn’t immediately pull me out of the moment every time I saw it.

I feel like a lot of artist/writers forget he’s literally missing his lower jaw ‘cause they always draw him with a jawline? This might be part of the problem. I remember thinking the bottom half of his face was probably just charred or something when I was a kid. Before I realized his psi-fire wasn’t hot and didn’t burn stuff.

That’s one of the biggest things that’s bothered me about the way a lot of artists draw him. When I did my Chamber cosplay a few years back, I did my damndest to hide the entire lower half of my face, including the definition of my jaw specifically for that reason. Tang En Huat and Jorge Molina got it right in X-Men Legacy Vol. 2, but they’re some of the only modern artists to remember that Jono’s got no jaw.

I mean, to be fair to the majority of Jono’s artists, Bachalo drew him with a jawline and he created the character so they were just…you know…following suit.

To review- he has no lower jaw, no lungs, no heart, he doesn’t eat, drink, need to use the bathroom, or breathe and is, basically, an animated meat sack filled with weird mind fire. How could that confuse anyone ? Hah hah.
