…Does it look like his hair is just whapping Domino’s scythe to anyone else? Like his ponytail is slapping the hell out of that weapon?

That’s actually Reaper, I believe- who looks a lot like Domino because… Rob Liefeld.

My favorite part of this drawing is playing ‘where’s the thumb’ on that severed hand.

Ahhhhh~ for years, I thought Reaper possessed Domino and took over her body. Today, I learned something.

I like how the severed hand looks like ‘Star carefully pulled back the glove, sliced it off right at the wrist, and then flung the thing away.

All while whipin’ that ponytail.

He looks like this when someone with actual talent draws him:

Hey, Morning Glories fans! As most of you know next week is NYCC, and once again Nick, Joe and I will be doing Morning Glory Academy Study Hall LIVE! Here’s the details on that:

Title: Morning Glories Study Hall Live!
Date: 10/11/2014
Time: 1:15PM – 2:00PM
Location: 1A05

Speakers: Joe Eisma, Matthew Meylikhov, Nick Spencer

Description: From the hit annotation column on Multiversity Comics, MGA Study Hall Live returns to NYCC! Continuing from last year’s panel, join creators Nick Spencer and Joe Eisma once again as they discuss their hit Eisner-nominated and New York Times Bestselling Image Comics series “Morning Glories” with MGA Study Hall host Matthew Meylikhov, including another in-depth fan favorite live Q&A segment. Questions will be asked, answers will be avoided and all will be well – for a better future.

However, here’s the situation: I know that a lot of you are incredibly passionate fans and wish you could be there but can’t for whatever reason, and I want to make sure that I am representing your thoughts and interests at the panel. I live to serve.

SO! If you can not come to the panel and want to make sure that something is brought up for discourse, now’s your chance to have your voice be heard anyway. Please comment on this post with what you want to see discussed at MGA Study Hall LIVE! this year and I will bring it up. I have a list of topics, but I’m happy to include yours. (You can also e-mail me, if you’d prefer, but commenting on the post will make my life a little easier when it comes to collating everything.)

And yes, we will do a live Q&A again, yes, I promise I am going to try and record it so we can put it online, and yes, I really really promise I won’t screw it up this year.

So send me your questions, and I look forward to seeing a lot of you next week!

Coming this weekend to your ears and eyeballs (if your body is in the right place)

For Morning Glories fans going to NYCC!

We have finished with the students (have we?) and it is time for the teacher, I think this one is my favourite so far. We are using a design Maxime did a while back for a fan art.

Paige is a great character, such an overachiever, so eager to be worthy, so dedicated to reach her full potential, and at the same time so insecure. She could fit any group you put her in.

This outfit is perfect for her, easy to rip and reveal new shapes. Plus, a detail of her with glasses, just because.

Do you know how to spot good artists? when every character they draw is unique. Paige here, for example, is cute, pretty, but also has the big ears that were the trademark of the Guthries long time ago. She cannot be mistaken for Meggan, Black Canary, or Emma Frost. She is not a random blonde. Maxime rocks.

Design and lineart: Maxime Garbarini

Inks and colour: Me

Today’s mutant is Paige Guthrie a.k.a. HUSK
without a doubt one of top 5 favorite mutants.
here are cleverly listed some of the reasons why she’s so relatable and yet unique.

As you are separating ‘crediting’ from ‘stealing’, what do you mean by stealing? Someone else taking direct credit for your work? Someone trying to sell your work?

People cropping out my signature and replacing it with their own. People reposting my art on dA and saying it’s theirs. People redrawing my drawings and then not crediting me with the original the piece is based on. It’s happened multiple times.

Yeah. I imagine if they usually do, it’s just a matter of forgetting occasionally rather than trying to pass it off as their own.

Sadly, a lot of people repost art without any credit at all. It’s a pet peeve of mine but, really, I can’t catch it all. It is better than out-right stealing my stuff. Which has happened more times than I can count at this point…
