I threw some color on the h o t t t Swimsuit Special Banshee that kevinwada illustrated for me. I always feel a bit weird doing this as 1. I’m incredibly super very an amateur and 2. I’m constantly fearful of it being perceived that I defaced the original professional artist’s work. But I’m a man who works with words that desperately misses doing visual creative work and this gives me an excuse to do such a thing! 

Palette swiped from Glynis Wein’s ‘70s “Uncanny X-Men” – which is where Banshee was undoubtedly the hottest. Close second being Bachalo’s “Generation X” run.

It’s true. Can you buy, like, fire proof, bullet proof fabric at Jo-Anne’s in the Marvel U? Maybe there are stores that deal primarily in superhero costume fabric. But remember, kiddies, NO CAPES!

Can you imagine how annoying it was for Chamber to wrap himself up, like, multiple times a day? Just to bust through those leather bandages every time he uses his power? Like, who’s buying these things? Emma? Is Emma Frost keeping the leather bandage place in business just to keep Jono outfitted? Does she have to go to some weird bondage store to get them? Like, where the Hell does one even buy leather bandages?

‘Jonothon, darling, have you considered Ace bandages?’

‘They don’t come in black.’

*deep sighing* ‘Of course not’

I vote for Unstable Molecules.  Because after the third time Emma had to replace them, she decided that it was just a better investment, even if the only way she could get Jono to wear them was to make them black.

I’m sorta surprised the full chest blaster never became a thing in the 616. Like, after the first issue of Gen Next, I thought they might go that route.It’s sorta amazing his look has basically gone unchanged for 20 years. Other than the Decibel phase, of course.
