So about Jono’s newly revealed Smiths tat….

I have a few possibilites for what it is, since I doubt that jono would get “There is a light that never goes out”

1) “Does the body rule the mind or does the mind rule the body?” from “Still Ill”

2) “This story is old, I know, but it still goes on” from “Last Night I Dreamt”

3) “You might sleep, but you will never dream” from “Suffer Little Children”

You might sleep, but you will never dream is good. And appropriately morose for our perpetually depressed flaming corpse son. 

yeah, a common theme I was trying to get was that the quotes all touch on self-loathing, while also not getting too detailed and intimate as to what that self-loathing is about. 

… and my GF insists that it would be in the Polka Trash style. 

So, those are all delightfully over the top.

Can I just say I was impressed that Eye Boy recognized Smith lyrics in the first place?  It doesn’t seem like the type of music Trevor would listen to. Also, how long was he staring in order to read it? Hah hah.

I’m breaking my “keep the rp and personal blogs separate!” rule and wading into the fray here. I love all those suggestions. But how much you wanna bet it’s “How Soon Is Now?” Because how likely is it that the average teenager would recognize the lyrics just from a glance? 

I refuse to take that route though. I just…refuse. I’m throwing my own personal contenders into the mix here for discussion: 

1. 

Amid concrete and clay
And general decay
Nature must still find a way

and

2. This is the fierce last stand of all I am

But even more intriguing to me: what’s the hive mind’s thoughts on the timing of said tattoo? Is it a mopey post-powers coping mechanism? A desire fulfilled after years of wanting it? Or my personal favorite, just him being a bored teenager of questionable sobriety and having a friend who had a friend who worked in a tattoo shop?

The more I think about it, the more I think it was likely a pre-powers
tattoo? Mostly because I can’t see Jono wanting to go under the needle
with that inferno inside him. He’s so twitchy about losing control. Also, taking its placement into account here… *cough*
