Can you imagine how annoying it was for Chamber to wrap himself up, like, multiple times a day? Just to bust through those leather bandages every time he uses his power? Like, who’s buying these things? Emma? Is Emma Frost keeping the leather bandage place in business just to keep Jono outfitted? Does she have to go to some weird bondage store to get them? Like, where the Hell does one even buy leather bandages?

‘Jonothon, darling, have you considered Ace bandages?’

‘They don’t come in black.’

*deep sighing* ‘Of course not’

I’ve always like the idea that he’s actually wrapping himself with black electrical tape or duct tape. It’s why he was completely and utterly hairless from the waist-up during a time when male comic book characters having a thicket of body hair Was A Thing. It’s also part of why he always smells funny, because the smell of melted latex clings to his skin thanks to being wrapped in tape at all times.

Duct tape really does fix everything!

but it’s less that i hate the format anymore or that have a big grudge against da (and i do), and more that the artistic commentary is even more inane there, and frequently offensive

I met some nice folks through dA.  When I was getting back into art, I found it motivating. Getting positive feedback can be affirming. Though, if you’re looking for actually critique? Probably not the best place.

I’ve also gotten my fair share of weird/creepy comments, people stealing my art and claiming it’s theirs, and asshats who just want to pick fights. That’s where block comes in handy.

I think one of the kindest things you can do for yourself as an artist is to accept that you will make bad drawings sometimes and just…stop caring about it. It’s not like that bad sketch you drew was your one and only chance to ever draw the thing. It’s so much easier emotionally to just say “lol what is that?” delete it and start over than it is to spend the next six hours crying about it.

Once you stop treating every single thing you draw as something precious and learn to just throw stuff away it takes so much stress away. One bad drawing doesn’t make you a bad artist, or a fraud. Even the best pro artists are gonna have moments where they draw things wrong.

You’re going to make bad drawings so just go out there and make them so you can move on with your life. Chances are your second attempt will be better.

So I get the feeling (and perhaps it’s just my eternally optimistic side?) that we’ve not seen the last of Laura. The fact that she continued to narrate after her death (granted it was a short while but still!) makes me think she might pop up later. And I also think it would be one hell of a coincidence that she manifested as Persephone and the only other god that’s bit the big one (so far) has been Lucifer. I’m hoping the two underworld gods come back and kick Ananke‘s shrived butt. Unless this is just some long con by Ananke to get Luci and Laura where they need to be then her shriveled butt can stay un-kicked.
