-popped collars

-scarves on ninjas is a must have

-If a character’s wearing a cape, it’s a sign that they’re strong as shit

-I sneak in shades of pink and/or purple as often as I can

now you try

-Girls with hoodies

-Villains usually wear fur

-Men have more facial details than women

-Gold trimmings/decals

-Blue/Orange and Green/Purple color combos

  • ambiguous furries
  • Yellow, pink, brown, and red
  • Characters 4 heads tall or under
  • scarves

a lot of my characters have:

thick dark eyebrows

look kind of sad, forlorn

wear black

have sharp teeth and claw fingers of some kind

have pointy eyelashes and cheekbones that can kill a man

-people looking tired bored or angry-usually all three

-BLACK SCLERA

-really strong jaws

-really crazy hair

-everyone wears a sweater AT LEAST once

-HOODED EYES

-women are hard asses and men are nervous wrecks

-eyes the size of dinner plates

-everybody suffers from inner family conflict

  • Crazy hair that usually lilts to the right
  • Lots of smirking and sneering
  • If they’re not smirking or sneering they’re probably having an emotional breakdown.
  • Most of the men are sad or serious and the woman are all total badasses
  • OC guys either in fancy suits or leather jackets and t-shirts. I’m not very creative with clothes, apparently.
  • Female characters are generally small chested.
  • All eyes are a dash with a half circle in the middle. Always.

I still REALLY like that Bishop. Such a handsome Bishop.

I’d be lying if I said Omar Sy didn’t influence that Bishop drawing a bit. He was a beautiful Lucas. I wish he’d gotten more screen time where he wasn’t being horribly killed by Sentinels.

My weird collection of Jono redesigns. He’s the only character I can muster the motivation to draw new clothes for.

Apparently the imaginary wind in all my drawings only blows in one direction.

Accomplishments for the year include finally learning how to draw men’s hips properly. They’re lacking in all but the first drawing- which happens to be the most recent.

2014 In Review!

– – –

Summary of Art Here

I have done like 100 + illustrations and designs this year (And sketches, but I don’t count them) and I like to think I’ve improved on last year, most noticeably my coloring skills. (And my character designs. I think i’m ok with that. Or at least I’m getting there.)

i’m lacking in backgrounds and narrative designs. Story of my life.
But i’m hoping to change that next year. Hey future Leigh; past Leigh says get to it.

Anyway:

So that’s 2014 in a nut shell. Here’s to 2015 ~
