It’s true. Can you buy, like, fire proof, bullet proof fabric at Jo-Anne’s in the Marvel U? Maybe there are stores that deal primarily in superhero costume fabric. But remember, kiddies, NO CAPES!
You know, this is one of things which bugs me, and has continued to bug me for years. Where the hell do all these people get this stuff!
Even the skeeviest low-rent supervillian seems to be able to get their hands on a fireproof/waterproof/bulletproof/etc body-condom or a type of leather which somhow manages to have the same properties but hasn’t been rendered completely rigid in the process.
It’s not just a question of where they get the fabric but how do they all afford it? Not everyone has the Avengers budget to work with.
That’s actually a joke in Superior Foes – Boomerang makes a down payment on a “sweet new costume.” I imagine a lot of them either steal their costumes or are in serious debt to the underground tailor ring. I mean, they are villains…
IIRC, wasn’t there a backup Batman story about the Gotham tailor to the supes/baddies? Maybe in Batman Black & White? (anyone else remember this?)
Actually, it’s a fan comic. And it’s amazing!
